Start of training to become a Storyliner 2019

08.01.2019

Note: Please note that there are no plans for a Storyliner (m/f/d) apprenticeship in 2020. As usual, you will find calls for new training courses in good time on UFA.de.

The time has come: The 16 selected applicants will start their four-month training as storyliners as part of the UFA Series School.

On January 14, 2019, the first phase of the multi-part training to become a professional storyteller will begin, consisting of practical and theoretical elements under the direction of GZSZ producer Petra Kolle and head writer Dominique Moro.

The first year of training as a storyliner learns all the theoretical and practical basics within 16 weeks so that they can then work in the story team at one of UFA SERIAL DRAMA’s dailies.

Joachim Kosack says: “The demand for good authors is already enormous today and will continue to grow in the coming years. It’s not just the TV channels that are hungry for good material. Platforms such as Netflix and Amazon are also increasingly interested in German stories. It is therefore only logical for UFA to invest in the training and further education of authors. In the coming years, we will therefore set up an in-house training system that covers all genres and development stages of an author.”

You can hear more about the series trend, training as a storyliner and the UFA Series School in the interview with Joachim Kosack, which he gave to radioeins.
