Berlin, July 30, 2026. On Friday, September 4, 2026, ALLES WAS ZÄHLT will celebrate its 20th anniversary. For two decades, the RTL daily series has captivated its audience with powerful emotions, dramatic twists, and unforgettable characters. Over the course of more than 5,000 episodes, characters have loved, argued, married, and divorced; friendships have been formed and broken; intrigues have been hatched; and destinies have been shaped. ALLES WAS ZÄHLT accompanies its viewers through their everyday lives, making it one of the most influential daily soap operas on German television. Tatjana Clasing has been part of the cast since the very first episode, playing the role of matriarch Simone Steinkamp.
Tatjana Clasing, actress: “20 years of exciting stories, enjoying my work, wonderful colleagues, and a great team! If that isn’t a reason to celebrate!”
A special highlight awaits viewers around the 5,000th episode on July 31: A total of seven red balloons have been hidden in the episodes airing in the coming weeks leading up to the big anniversary. Anyone who finds all the balloons and submits the correct answer will have a chance to win great prizes. The contest runs through September 4.
Even after 20 years, ALLES WAS ZÄHLT remains true to its signature style. Themed around a bride, a baby, and some nasty surprises, the anniversary week kicks off on August 31, 2026. The anniversary will offer emotional moments for longtime fans as well as exciting stories for new viewers. And, of course, there will also be a special guest: tennis icon Sabine Lisicki will return during the anniversary week. Following her first guest appearance last winter, she will be back from episode 5016 (August 24, 2026) through episode 5026 (September 7, 2026). This is a particularly great honor for passionate AWZ fans.
Sabine Lisicki, tennis player: “When the show first aired 20 years ago, I hardly ever missed an episode, and I’d always rush home after practice so I could watch it on time. As a daily series focused on competitive sports, *ALLES WAS ZÄHLT* always felt very relatable to me, and I’m thrilled that the show is still so successful. Here’s to the next 20 years.”
Guido Reinhardt, producer at UFA Serial Drama, launched the daily series: “When I look back on over twenty years of *ALLES WAS ZÄHLT*, I’m filled above all with deep gratitude and humility. It was actually an impossible dream to come up with the idea for a series and then be allowed to produce it myself. But the fact that this idea has endured for over 20 years borders on a small miracle. Yet behind this miracle are, above all, the people who made it possible and continue to do so. A series like this never thrives on a single idea, but on hundreds of creative minds in front of and behind the camera. The fact that it has accompanied so many people over so many years is the greatest compliment a producer can receive. At the same time, I’m convinced that the most exciting chapters still lie ahead.”
Katharina Katzenberger, who has been overseeing the series editorially since day one, and Lucie Kleitz, editors at RTL: “The strength of daily series lies in their consistency—in offering viewers a sense of familiarity in their daily routines. That’s exactly what ALLES WAS ZÄHLT has been doing for 20 years. The fact that, together with the production team, we’ve managed to constantly reinvent the series is primarily thanks to the creativity, passion, and extraordinary dedication of everyone involved, both in front of and behind the camera. We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved together over the past two decades. For us, however, this special anniversary is not just an occasion to look back, but above all an incentive to continue inspiring fans with exciting, emotional, and contemporary stories—and to make ALLES WAS ZÄHLT an integral part of their daily lives, day after day.”
