Potsdam, December 16, 2025 : The major cinema epic THE MEDICUS 2 celebrated its world premiere yesterday at the CINEDOM in Cologne. Tom Payne, Emily Cox, Áine Rose Daly, Liam Cunningham, Malick Bauer, Francis Fulton-Smith, Jaouhar Ben Ayed, Rosie Boore, Evelyn Craven and Máté Haumann from the excellent cast were guests on the red carpet. Together with director and producer Philipp Stölzl, producers Wolf Bauer, Till Derenbach and Michael Souvignier (Zeitsprung Pictures), producer Sebastian Werninger (UFA Fiction) and executive producer David Kehrl (Constantin Film), they faced the flurry of flashbulbs and numerous fans.

Other guests welcomed by Constantin Film board member and executive producer Martin Bachmann included Walid Nakschbandi, Managing Director of the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, as well as co-producers Frank Zervos, Deputy Program Director of ZDF, Cristian Parra, Head of Film Prime Video Germany and Dirk Schürhoff, Managing Director Beta Film, and numerous other prominent guests.

Content: 11th century: After fleeing from Isfahan, the physician Rob Cole and his companions are stranded in his old home of London, where he spreads the light of his medical knowledge. He soon becomes entangled in the intrigues of the royal family and once again has to fight for the lives of his patients, for recognition of his work and against a completely new challenge – the suffering of the human psyche.

DER MEDICUS 2 is a Wolf Bauer / Philipp Stölzl production, produced by Till Derenbach and Michael Souvignier from Zeitsprung Pictures, Wolf Bauer and Sebastian Werninger from UFA Fiction. Co-producers are Prime Video, ZDF, Constantin Film and Beta Cinema. DER MEDICUS 2 is once again directed by Philipp Stölzl, based on a story by Jan Berger and Philipp Stölzl. Beta Cinema has taken over world sales. Another financing partner is MMC Movies Cologne. The film was supported by the Film- und Medienstiftung NRW, the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg (MBB), the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF), the German Federal Film Board (FFA) and the Hungarian Film Incentive.

The theatrical release date is December 25, 2025, distributed by Constantin Film.
