Success on the international stage: The documentary TIP-OFF – BEHIND BEATS N BUCKETS, about BEATS N BUCKETS—Germany’s first basketball and hip-hop event—won the “Best Sport Movie” award at the Oniros Film Awards in New York in July 2026.

The documentary follows the creation and production of this unique crossover event, which brings together basketball and German rap in a spectacular way. The focus is on the premiere of BEATS N BUCKETS at Munich’s BMW Park—featuring rappers on the court, live performances, professional basketball players, and NBA star Franz Wagner as ambassador.

TIP-OFF – BEHIND BEATS N BUCKETS was produced by UFA Documentary, which served as the exclusive video production partner for the event. In addition to the documentary, the team also produced the livestream, which was broadcast live on DAZN and Dyn.

The Oniros Film Awards is an international, IMDb-eligible film and screenplay competition featuring live screenings in New York City. Every month, the festival honors independent film projects, short films, feature films, and screenplays from around the world and offers filmmakers an international platform.
