Potsdam, October 24, 2024. Last night, the “Blue Panther TV & Streaming Award 2024” ceremony took place in Munich, with three awards going to UFA projects. MAXTON HALL – THE WORLD BETWEEN US was named “Best Series.” In addition, Daphne Ferraro, screenwriter for the first season, was delighted to receive the award in the “Best Screenplay” category.

Ceylan Yildirim, producer of MAXTON HALL: “‘Every person deserves a world full of possibilities.’ With this guiding principle from our heroine Ruby in our hearts, we began our journey four years ago—a journey that has, incredibly, brought us this far. Receiving the ‘Blue Panther’ award is a fantastic feeling and shows just how much the love that went into the work on MAXTON HALL is being recognized. I’d like to thank our outstanding team in front of and behind the camera at UFA, especially our directors Martin Schreier and Tarek Roehlinger, our partners at Prime Video, our cast—above all Harriet Herbig-Matten and Damian Hardung— and our head writer Daphne Ferraro, all of whom, with their creative energy, have turned MAXTON HALL into a feast for the senses. The love of every single person involved is what makes up the whole that is being honored here, and for that I am infinitely grateful.”

MAXTON HALL – THE WORLD BETWEEN US Season 1 is a UFA Fiction production, an Original German Series for Prime Video. The producers are Ceylan Yildirim and Markus Brunnemann. Valentin Debler is a producer. Martin Schreier (TRAUMFABRIK) and Tarek Roehlinger (EIN AUSNAHMEZUSTAND) directed the series. Daphne Ferraro is the head writer. The writers’ room consisted of Marc Schießer, Marlene Melchior, Zoe Hagen, Nina Rathke, Anna Schimrigk, and Juliana Lima Dehne. Christof Wahl served as director of photography. Isabel von Forster was responsible for production design, Gabriela Reumer for costumes, and Patrick Dreikauss and Emrah Ertem for casting. The series is funded by the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF).

The UFA Documentary production *ICH BIN! MARGOT FRIEDLÄNDER* was once again a success. The team behind *ICH BIN! MARGOT FRIEDLÄNDER* recently won the German Television Award in the categories “Best Television Movie/Miniseries” and “Best Editing in Fiction,” for which Martin Menzel was honored. Following their recognition at the Robert Geisendörfer Prize, Hannah Ley and Raymond Ley have now been named award winners once again. They accepted the “Blue Panther” for screenplay and direction in the “Culture/Education” category.

Marc Lepetit, producer at UFA Documentary: “Telling Margot Friedländer’s story is a challenge. Behind all her modesty and reserve lies a wealth of knowledge and pain from a time that still stands today as a reminder of something we never want to experience again. The sensitivity with which Hannah and Raymond approached the subject matter and directed the filming resulted in a work about which Margot Friedländer quietly said after viewing it, ‘That’s how it was.’ I am personally delighted that, following the Geisendörfer Prize, the two of them have now also received the ‘Blue Panther’ for their work. An award for a joint labor-of-love project that is more important today than ever. Congratulations to both of them—and we hope that many more people will continue to watch the film and understand and convey its significance for our times. We thank the jury for the awards—and are happy to pass on the praise to the entire team and ZDF.”

I AM! MARGOT FRIEDLÄNDER is a commissioned production by UFA Documentary for ZDF and tells the life story of a witness to the Nazi regime and a Holocaust survivor. Hannah and Raymond Ley wrote the screenplay, and Raymond Ley also directed the film. The producers are Marc Lepetit, Nico Hofmann, and Gwendolin Szyszkowitz-Schwingel. The film will remain available on the ZDFmediathek through 2028.
