All or nothing. There is no room for maneuver in between in “Alles was zählt”. The daily drama from UFA Serial Drama is the most dynamic daily series in Germany and has changed the series landscape with its fast-paced narrative style and quirky humor. “Alles was zählt” sets new standards in the areas of directing, editing and musical dramaturgy.
“All That Matters” is all about great emotions: passion, love, betrayal, jealousy and the eternal battle between heart and mind. The characters are sharply drawn and know exactly what they want. But the heart of the series is sport. Whether on the ice, in the dance hall, at the basketball hoop or in the pool – “All That Matters” is characterized by movement and dynamism. The focus is on the Steinkamp clan from Essen and the employees of the Steinkamp Sports and Wellness Center. Competition is their business and the athletes they market give their all to be at the top of the podium.
With intense stories, energetic narrative language, a modern look and a unique musical style with recognition value, AWZ has been holding its own in the 7:05 pm slot on RTL for 15 years now.
On May 29, 2006, the first take for “Alles was zählt” was shot in Cologne-Ossendorf. Around 120 people work continuously on the story and produce 25 minutes of airtime every day on behalf of RTL.
In Studio 37/38 on the MMC site, UFA Serial Drama has created the world of the series on over 2000 m². In February 2010, the series was enriched by its own outdoor set: since then, the MMC site not far from the AWZ studio has been home to the food truck, beer garden and basketball court. Since July 21, 2020, there has also been a climate-neutral ice rink. The central playground has one major advantage: the ice surface no longer needs to be cooled. This is because synthetic materials have been used for the new skating rink. In terms of content and production, UFA is living up to its commitment to sustainability.
In addition, regular outside shoots beyond the studio premises are part of the daily routine of the daily drama. Over 4000 episodes have been broadcast to date.
