Stand:
“Verbotene Liebe” has been produced by UFA SERIAL DRAMA (formerly Grundy UFA Fernsehproduktion) since October 17, 1994. From summer 2003, the production was based in the Magic Media Company studios in the Cologne-Ossendorf industrial estate, having previously been filmed in the WDR studios in Cologne-Bocklemünd for over eight years.
That’s how it all began:
In the first scene of the soap, Jan Brandner and Julia von Anstetten land in Germany by plane. They crash into each other with their trolleys – and don’t yet know that they are actually twins. Separated at birth. So they celebrate their 20th birthdays separately – in completely different worlds. And the carousel of “forbidden love” began to turn. Because Jan and Julia fall in love with each other …
Interesting facts about the production:
In 4664 episodes, 8596 kisses were exchanged, 1615 hot bed scenes were filmed and 41 marriages took place.
Gabriele Metzger is the only actress to have played a role from the start in 1995 until the last episode in 2015.
The first 150 episodes of “Forbidden Love” have been available on TVNOW since April 1, 2020.
Gabriele Metzger as “Charlie Schneider” has been a permanent member of the cast since episode 1. Another “veteran” was Konrad Krauss, who played Arno Brandner continuously until November 2009. A few months after his departure, he returned to the series in March 2010 and remained with it – with a few breaks, often lasting several months – until his death in September 2012. Claudia Scarpatetti, who had also been on the show as “Susanne Brandner” since the first episode, rejoined the series on March 23, 2005 after a seven-year break and stayed on until April 24, 2008. She returned briefly in September 2012 for the funeral of her father.
