Leipzig, September 1, 2026. The 27th season of SOKO LEIPZIG premieres on October 2, 2026, on ZDF. Viewers can look forward to thrilling investigations and new dynamics within the team. Produced by UFA Mitte, the series airs Fridays at 9:15 p.m. and is available on the ZDF streaming portal one week before each episode airs on TV.

New to the cast: Simon Böer, who joins the SOKO LEIPZIG team as Chief Inspector Dirk Trebbe. Alongside Melanie Marschke as Ina Zimmermann, Amy Mußul as Kim Nowak, and Johannes Hendrik Langer as Moritz Brenner, he will be investigating cases in Leipzig and the surrounding area starting immediately.

Simon Böer: “Dirk Trebbe brings a wealth of criminal investigation experience to the table, yet he never loses sight of the human element. Bringing this character to life alongside such a warm and dedicated team was something very special for me. I’m all the more excited to finally introduce Dirk Trebbe to the audience and tell exciting new stories.”

The new season tells gripping crime stories that tackle highly topical social issues. Bullying, homelessness, caring for family members, and the desire to have children reflect the realities of life for many people and are portrayed in a way that is both poignant and emotionally compelling. At the same time, the series shines a spotlight on digital threats and modern forms of crime, telling multifaceted stories full of moral gray areas. Furthermore, the investigations lead into extraordinary worlds—from intelligence agencies and illegal street races to drug smuggling—offering insights into lifestyles far removed from everyday life.

In the first episode, “The Eye,” police officer Jana Zschocke confesses to killing a man. But a suspect has already been arrested for the murder of the leader of a criminal biker gang—a suspect who is now in the witness protection program. Which of the two is faking a murder, and why?
New colleague Dirk Trebbe’s first day on the job turns out very differently than he and Ina had imagined. It’s almost too late by the time they realize that an uninvited guest—Jana Zschocke—has infiltrated the police station. And she already has her sights set on her target.

Alongside Anna Stieblich as Prof. Dr. Sabine Rossi, Daniel Steiner as Lorenz Rettig and Michael Rotschopf as District Attorney Binz are once again supporting the SOKO team in their investigations this season. Carlotta Bähre as Lotte Trautzschke and Caroline Scholze as Leni Trautzschke are also part of the 27th season.

SOKO LEIPZIG is a UFA Mitte production. Katharina Rietz is the producer, Tanya Momella Mallory is the executive producer, and Josefine Wolf is a producer. Ronja Reitzig and Kirsten Zielonka (ZDF) serve as editors for SOKO LEIPZIG.
