Potsdam, 30. June 2025. Last night, the festival premiere of *MISS SOPHIE – SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR* took place as part of the Munich Film Festival. The six-part UFA Fiction series prequel tells the backstory to the well-known New Year’s Eve classic *DINNER FOR ONE*. In attendance were, among others, the lead actors and actresses Alicia von Rittberg, Kostja Ullmann, Moritz Bleibtreu, Jacob Matschenz, Christoph Schechinger, and Ulrich Noethen, who presented the first two episodes of the series to the audience. In addition to the cast, the team led by directors Markus Sehr and Daniel Rakete Siegel, writer and producer Tommy Wosch, and producer Markus Brunnemann was also present.

Tommy Wosch was very happy after the premiere: “After a lot of hype leading up to the show, I was of course incredibly curious to see how the paying audience would react to our Miss Sophie, so I’m naturally more than happy after last night.”

Here’s what MISS SOPHIE – SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR is about: Finally, the long-awaited prequel to the cult sketch *Dinner for One*: England, early 20th century—a country estate near London. Faced with financial hardship, young Miss Sophie (Alicia von Rittberg) decides to get married and invites potential suitors to her castle. Before she can make her choice, one of the gentlemen is murdered. Miss Sophie challenges the bachelors to witty contests for her heart while secretly trying to find the murderer. Always by her side is her butler James (Kostja Ullmann)—and a tender, yet seemingly impossible romance begins to blossom…

Alongside Alicia von Rittberg as Miss Sophie and Kostja Ullmann as Butler James, the cast includes Moritz Bleibtreu as Mr. Pommeroy, Frederick Lau as Mr. Winterbottom, Jacob Matschenz as Sir Toby, Christoph Schechinger as Admiral von Schneider, and Vladimir Korneey as Count Szabos.

MISS SOPHIE – SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR is a UFA Fiction production for Prime Video. The producers are Tommy Wosch and Markus Brunnemann. The film is directed by Markus Sehr and Daniel Rakete Siegel, based on screenplays by Tommy Wosch and Dominik Moser. The executive producer is Viola-Franziska Bloess, and the producers are Julia Franke and Sabrina Kunert. MISS SOPHIE – SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR is funded by the German Motion Picture Fund (GMPF).
