Potsdam, March 9, 2026: The romantic Christmas comedy ALLE JAHRE WIEDER was one of the most-watched films on linear television during the 2024 Christmas season. And millions of viewers in the ARD media library also feverishly watched to see whether there would be a romantic happy ending for the passengers of the “Christmas bus” from Berlin to the Bavarian Alps.
Filming for the sequel WIEDER ALLE JAHRE WIEDER (AT) ran from the beginning of January to mid-February. And once again, Christmas Eve becomes a touchstone for two couples. Hanna and Felix are caught between tradition, expectations and the question of what kind of life they really want. What begins as a celebration turns into an open debate about the future, closeness and unfulfilled desires. At the same time, Lisa and Micha meet by chance every year on a long-distance bus between Berlin and Bavaria. She: a bus driver with a dry sense of humor. He: newly separated and overwhelmed by his own life. What begins as a coincidence becomes a ritual: every year on December 24th, they meet again – wavering between closeness and escape, between doubt and the hope that this time they will find each other.
Four Christmas evenings, a long-distance bus and two couples who struggle for closeness in very different ways: WIEDER ALLE JAHRE WIEDER tells with humor and warmth about life plans that don’t fit into pigeonholes. And about how commitment is not always “the next step”, but sometimes the courage not to avoid it.
Hanno Olderdissen directed the romantic Christmas comedy based on a script by Tommy Wosch. In addition to Jördis Triebel as bus driver Lisa, Ronald Zehrfeld as passenger Micha, Sinje Irslinger as Hanna and Klaus Steinbacher as Felix, the cast also included Elena Uhlig, Philipp Moog, Lisa Kreuzer, Lilly-Marie Vogler and Johannes Berzl in front of Holly Fink’s camera. Filming took place in and around Munich.
WIEDER ALLE JAHRE WIEDER (AT) is a production by UFA Fiction (Producer: Tommy Wosch, Executive Producer: Viola-Franziska Bloess, Producer: Julia Franke) on behalf of ARD Degeto Film (Editors: Stefan Kruppa, Johanna Kraus) for ARD for the “Endlich Freitag im Ersten” slot. The film is expected to be broadcast in Advent 2026.
