The fifth film in the successful ARD Degeto series CHARLOTTE LINK was shot in the UK under the direction of Till Franzen. The thriller “Im Tal des Fuchses” (AT) also unfolds a special psychological depth through the perpetrator’s perspective. The male leads are played by Benjamin Sadler and Ludwig Trepte. The German-English cast also includes Lisa Bitter, Teresa Harder, Christina Hecke, Arnd Klawitter, Deleila Piasko, Carsten Hayes, Sean Cernow and Katharina Schüttler, among many others. The screenplay was written by Stefan Wild based on the novel of the same name by Charlotte Link. The director of photography was Timo Moritz, who has worked with Till Franzen on several occasions. Filming took place in Wales from mid-June to mid-July.
Synopsis: The unstable Ryan (Ludwig Trepte) urgently needs a large sum of money to help his girlfriend out of a threatening situation. The kidnapping of Vanessa Willard (Katharina Schüttler), who Ryan locks up in a fox cave, is supposed to bring in a ransom. But the police beat Ryan to the punch and sentence him to three years in prison for a brawl. Out of fear, Ryan conceals the hostage-taking and Vanessa is never found. The unsolved case remains dormant – until Ryan’s release. His new beginning is overshadowed by feelings of fear and guilt: Has Vanessa survived and wants revenge on Ryan? Vanessa’s desperate husband Matthew (Benjamin Sadler) and journalist Jenna (Lisa Bitter) also start looking for clues again. And what does Vanessa’s friend Alexia (Christina Hecke) have to do with it all?
