Maria is 14 and grows up in a family that belongs to a particularly strict branch of the Catholic Church. She takes her faith very seriously and tries to live it in everyday life according to the principles that her family and the priest teach her. The radical difference between the strict rules of her family, especially her rigid mother, and her life as a schoolgirl puts her under great pressure. With her confirmation coming up, the girl decides to dedicate her life to Jesus without compromise.
