In the rugged mountain world of Mordach, Cuma Ozan (Mehmet Kurtuluş) is searching for himself after a work-related incident. But then Laura Brunner (Lea Louisa Wolfram), the daughter of the most powerful man in the valley, is found shot dead in the forest. As a stranger, Cuma immediately comes under suspicion, especially as he seems to know the young woman very intimately. However, numbed by alcohol and drugs, he can barely remember his encounter with her. Policewoman Toni Brandner (Sarah Bauerett) is skeptical of the mysterious man, who is opaque and uncooperative. Not without reason – because Cuma has been working for years as an undercover investigator in the Frankfurt clan milieu. His superior Helene Brecht (Gesine Cukrowski) negotiates a deal with the public prosecutor’s office and places her employee at the side of the inexperienced small-town policewoman. The unlikely duo are to solve the murder case together. In the course of the investigation, the postcard idyll of Mordach begins to show deep cracks.
Alongside Mehmet Kurtuluş, Sarah Bauerett and Gesine Cukrowski, Dominique Horwitz, Philip Birnstiel, Lea Louisa Wolfram and David Zimmerschied can also be seen in other roles. Filming will continue until the end of June 2021 in South Tyrol, including in Trento, Brunico and the surrounding area.
