CA$H – Das eine Millionen Mark-Quiz (original title)

UFA SHOW & FACTUAL GmbH • Show • 2000

A millionaire at last - a dream shared by many that could become reality with "CA$H".

No one had to go it alone because, like treasure hunters or gold diggers, the tasks were completed together as a team. With good general knowledge, a team of five candidates could win one million marks by answering eight questions correctly.

The candidate who performed best in the preliminary round when answering an estimation question became the captain of the team. The next four questions were answered alternately by one candidate from each team, which meant that everyone was dependent on the knowledge of their teammates. If one failed, they all failed. The last four questions required four correct answers each, which had to be selected from a constantly increasing number of alternatives. As the amount of winnings increased with each question, but the level of difficulty was also raised accordingly, the team was allowed to decide after each correctly answered question whether to take on the challenge of another question and the prospect of an even higher prize. The captain alone made the decision for the team.

The random generator selected a player four times to receive 10,000 marks if they challenged a teammate to a duel. He could keep the money in any case, regardless of whether he lost the duel or the team failed. If he won the knowledge duel, he knocked the other teammate out of the race and secured his share of the overall prize. Last but not least, he was also able to replace the captain. This meant that the team was reduced to one player, who no longer had to share the prize with the other four candidates. However, he then had to solve the remaining questions on his own and could no longer benefit from the knowledge of the others.
