For the first time, GRUNDY Light Entertainment produced BAUER SUCHT FRAU in collaboration with Iko Production Limited for the Hungarian broadcaster RTL Klub. Thousands of farmers applied for the first season of HÁZASODNA A GADZA, as the format is called in Hungary.

The introductory episode aired on June 29, 2012 and, with a market share of 35.3 percent, was watched by more Hungarian viewers than the broadcast of the European Championship final (34.5 percent) on the same weekend. In the fall, the romantic adventures of the four candidates who proved to be the most popular over the summer will go on air: Including forester Szilvester (36), pig farmer Tomi (31), cattle farmer Andras (47) and horse breeder Bence (25).

HÁZASODNA A GADZA is an adaptation of the FremantleMedia format THE FARMER WANTS A WIFE, which is on air in over 20 countries with great success.

UFA SHOW & FACTUAL Hungary produced the 2nd season of BAUER SUCHT FRAU in Hungary in 2019. In 9 episodes, the TV romance follows lonely farmers in search of true love.

This year, five new farmers want to join presenter Anikó on a romantic search for true love and hope to be struck by Cupid’s arrows. Which pot will finally find its lid?

The second season achieved an average market share of 15 percent in primetime on RTL Klub and was therefore a complete success!
