Potsdam, July 4, 2025 – Breaking news from UFA Haus: After three decades of successful company history at the traditional media location of Potsdam-Babelsberg, UFA is opening a new chapter – and is returning its headquarters to the vibrant capital of Berlin in 2026. With the move, CEO Sascha Schwingel and COO Natalie Clausen are consistently driving forward the strategic realignment of UFA. From the first half of 2026, around 130 employees will be working in the new premises on Schöneberger Ufer.
This step is far more than just a change of location. It is part of a comprehensive transformation process within the UFA group of companies that is positioning UFA strategically and culturally for the future: with a new leadership culture that focuses on innovation, agility and collaboration, with a clear attitude and a commitment to the values of openness, diversity, tolerance and change that are already practiced.
Natalie Clausen, COO UFA: “UFA is back in Berlin – this is a powerful step for us that makes sense both culturally and economically. As a broad-based media company, we need to be where a lot is happening – in the middle of the creative pulse of society, close to the zeitgeist, the talents, the partners and the consumers. With the move, we are setting the course for innovation, networking and new content that comes from the heart of society. After many years in Potsdam-Babelsberg, during which we have worked very professionally and successfully with Potsdam and Brandenburg’s political and business communities and are extremely grateful for this, this includes a new start in Berlin. Our new offices are currently being built and I am very pleased that we are actively shaping things here and look forward to an energetic start with all our colleagues in the capital in 2026!”
With the relocation and other recent transformation measures, UFA is working on a strategic realignment in response to the dynamic changes in the media landscape and media consumption. An inspiring environment awaits the company in Berlin: a cultural media center where politics, democracy, art, music, media and diversity meet. Where subculture meets high culture, where the home of numerous creative minds, filmmakers, creators and agencies is located – this is where UFA wants to shape the future.
The new location brings together the majority of employees in the capital region under one roof and creates a working environment for all colleagues that is geared towards collaboration, agility and a modern working culture. The premises, which are both ecological and sustainable and enable networked and creative work, help to strengthen team spirit and collaboration across departments and also create a meeting place for talents and partners.
Despite the change of headquarters, UFA remains connected to the city of Potsdam and the state of Brandenburg: The production and post-production of GUTE ZEITEN, SCHLECHTE ZEITEN are moving together and will remain at the Studio Babelsberg location. The striking exterior set of the successful daily, Kolle-Kiez, will also remain firmly anchored in Potsdam-Babelsberg – a clear commitment to the region, to established structures and to the creative potential on site. The move to Berlin is a step forward without losing sight of Brandenburg.
