Sleeves rolled up, ears pricked: Start of the jury castings for DEUTSCHLAND SUCHT DEN SUPERSTAR

First working day for the DSDS anniversary jury! Last Saturday, the castings for the 20th season of DEUTSCHLAND SUCHT DEN SUPERSTAR started in Cologne.

Best views guaranteed: Until today (September 12), Dieter Bohlen, Pietro Lombardi, Leony and Katja Krasavice will be listening to singers who want to become Germany’s Superstar 2023 with a spectacular view from the KölnSKY.

Dieter Bohlen: “I admit, my heart is jumping like crazy today. DSDS and I – we simply belong together. Sitting in my jury chair again feels like a birthday and Christmas together. And then there’s the anniversary of the hottest show on German TV. We’ll celebrate it in style on the journey to the new superstar, I promise!”

Pietro Lombardi: “The location for the first casting of the 20th and final DSDS season is a very special place for me, and not just because of the view of Cologne Cathedral: this is exactly where I had my casting for the show 11 years ago. This is where it all began for me and where my life completely changed. Sitting here today alongside my friend Dieter, Katja and Leony is just incredible. Now it’s finally starting!”

Leony: “I’m a bit excited and at the same time eager to meet the candidates. I’m really looking forward to the time!”

Katja Krasavice: “I’m very excited about the time and am looking forward to finally getting started!”

Further recordings of the final DSDS castings will take place in Munich and Hamburg in September, before the biggest talents head to Mallorca for the first recall stop and the most talented among them then go on another recall trip abroad.

Laura Wontorra takes over as host of DEUTSCHLAND SUCHT DEN SUPERSTAR

Welcome to DSDS, dear Laura! For the farewell season of DEUTSCHLAND SUCHT DEN SUPERSTAR, the 33-year-old will be hosting the live shows. She will also go behind the scenes during the jury castings to capture the mood and will be on hand to help the talents, no doubt eliciting a secret or two from them. Laura Wontorra: “I can’t play soccer, but I present it, I can’t cook, but I present a cooking show – so it’s only logical that I’m now allowed to present DSDS as a completely untalented singer. What an honor to be part of the very last season and Dieter Bohlen’s comeback!”
