RTLplus, the latest free TV channel of the RTL media group, is planning a new edition of the classic game show DER PREIS IST HEISS with Wolfram Kons as host and Thorsten Schorn as co-host.

From 1989 to the end of 1997, the game show ran on RTL in the afternoon and morning programs. Harry Wijnvoord presented a total of 1873 episodes together with Walter Freiwald. The US original “The Price Is Right” ran from 1956 to 1965, first on NBC and later on ABC. The show has been running continuously on ABC since 1972 and is one of the most successful game shows in the world.

The game principle of THE PRICE IS HOT: Candidates from the audience prove their suitability for everyday use by estimating the price of the products presented as accurately as possible. The audience also plays an important role in this, as they are asked to get involved and support the candidates with shouts of “More!” or “Less!” to help determine the price. After several rounds of play, “Das Rad” will decide which two candidates will make it to the final and play for the super prize. Only one thing counts in THE PRIZE IS HOT: that the contestants are as close as possible to the right prize – and, of course, that the golden rule is observed: Please do not outbid!

Anyone who carefully compares prices in the supermarket and counts the change when paying, who pores over catalogs or is a shopping addict is in the right place with THE PRICE IS HOT and has a good chance of winning big in the battle for the super price. But only if the price is right!
