After the very successful first edition as an East-West duel to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in the fall of 2009, "Das Quiz der Deutschen" was "The" contemporary history quiz on TV.

Everything revolved around the question: How well do we know our country? In this edition, presenter Frank Plasberg put two teams of celebrities to the test in a playful competition: What do they know about geography, contemporary history, politics and entertainment? The teams competed simultaneously in a playful duel. There was a “men versus women” duel and a rematch of “East versus West”. In addition to a great deal of knowledge, the candidates were required to have a talent for improvisation, knowledge of human nature, memory and creativity.

During the show, the participants went through Germany in 16 questions across all 16 federal states. There was a colorful mix of country-specific customs and habits, surprising facts and fun activities. After a total of 16 tasks and activities, there was a final round in which everything could be turned around again.

They included Kai Pflaume, Simone Thomalla, boxing legend Henry Maske, H. P. Baxxter, frontman of Germany’s best-known techno band Scooter, actor Walter Sittler and newsreader Judith Rakers.

The game was played for a good cause.
