TAUSEND ZEILEN, the modern media satire directed by Michael Bully Herbig, will be released in German cinemas on September 29, 2022. Inspired by Juan Moreno’s book “Tausend Zeilen Lüge”, freelance journalist Romero discovers inconsistencies in the award-winning reports of star reporter Lars Bogenius in TAUSEND ZEILEN and triggers one of the biggest German press scandals with his revelations. Michael Bully Herbig on his new film: “Similarities with untrue events could be coincidental. But the facts are certainly twisted to get it right in the end!”
A prominent cast has been signed up for the production by UFA Fiction, Warner Bros. and Feine Filme: The ensemble includes Elyas M’Barek as Romero and Jonas Nay as Lars Bogenius. Other actors include Michael Ostrowski, Michael Maertens, Jörg Hartmann, Marie Burchard, Sara Fazilat and Kurt Krömer. The screenplay was written by Hermann Florin.

Lars Bogenius is the undisputed star of a major German news magazine. Winner of numerous journalism awards for his big, emotional stories, he is the hope of the publishing house and the salvation against falling circulation figures. But behind this shiny façade lies a fraud. Only a vigilant journalist, Romero, recognizes that something cannot be right and begins to follow the trail – against all odds. He risks his career and even his family for the truth.
