The life of Judith Ehrmann (Claudia Michelsen), a dedicated pastor, emergency counselor and, last but not least, mother and wife, is thrown off balance when she is called to a serious hit-and-run accident. The teenage passenger, a friend of her son, dies at the scene of the accident and the driver is taken to hospital seriously injured. The only witness saw a black station wagon. Judith’s husband Christoph (Henning Baum) drives the same car. She believes that Christoph may have caused the accident and keeps this quiet. Doubt settles into Judith’s life. At the same time, she has to decide for or against a new career move. In addition, Inspector Minow (Thomas Loibl), who is in charge of the investigation, is increasingly throwing Judith off balance. Over time, the pastor, whose profession is faith, no longer knows what she can still believe in. In her husband’s innocence and faithfulness? In her relationship with her son Paul (Jordan E. Dwyer)? In her work as an emergency chaplain? But Judith uses the upheavals to rise above herself and examine her life situation.
