With Heike Makatsch (“Ich war noch niemals in New York”), Til Schweiger (“Honig im Kopf”), Jürgen Vogel (“Club der roten Bänder”), Benno Fürmann (“Babylon Berlin”), Jasmin Gerat (“Kokowääh”), Dietmar Bär (“Tatort”) and Inka Friedrich (“Sommer vorm Balkon”) as well as Max Hubacher (“Der Hauptmann”) and the young Sinje Irslinger in her first leading role in a movie, the film “Gott, du kannst ein Arsch sein!” has a prominent cast.
16-year-old Steffi (Sinje Irslinger) has just graduated from secondary school and is full of zest for action. She is looking forward to her graduation trip to Paris and is planning a romantic night in the city of love with her boyfriend Fabi (Jonas Holdenrieder). After the school trip, Steffi’s dream career is supposed to come true – with training as a policewoman. But routine examinations reveal abnormalities in her blood count and it soon becomes clear: it’s cancer. Incurable. The Pape family’s world collapses. Her parents Eva (Heike Makatsch) and Frank (Til Schweiger) hope for a miracle. The graduation trip? Unthinkable with this diagnosis! But not for Steffi. When she meets the circus son and motorcycle acrobat Steve (Max Hubacher), who is fleeing from his authoritarian father (Jürgen Vogel) and offers to drive her to Paris, she doesn’t hesitate. With a stolen car and no money, the two set off. Eva and Frank want to bring their daughter to her senses and take up the chase. And so begins a unique road trip full of highs and lows, driven by deep longing and a lust for life. Steffi not only learns from Steve that you can ride cows and fly in the North Sea wind, but she also takes him more and more into her heart every day. Once she arrives in Paris, Steffi slowly realizes what she really wants – in the time she has left…
