Laila Stieler wrote the book DIE POLIZISTIN using motifs from Annegret Held’s diary ‘Meine Nachtgestalten’. During the development of the script, the author spent several days in police stations in Rostock and Berlin and accompanied the officers on patrol. The WDR television film was directed by Andreas Dresen. In addition to Gabriela Maria Schmeide and Axel Prahl, Jevgnij Sitochin, Horst Krause and Katrin Sass can be seen in the leading roles.
Young policewoman Anne (Gabriela Maria Schmeide) has just completed her police training in Berlin. Full of hope for a new start in her professional and private life, the young officer begins a new chapter in her life – in the problem district of Lütten-Klein in Rostock, of all places.
Everyday police work is characterized by countless small incidents, tough bureaucracy and constant overload. Dealing with people whose reality is characterized by social poverty and the balancing act between personal sympathy and professional duties proves to be a particular challenge for Anne.
Police colleague Mike (Axel Prahl) appreciates the compassionate and unconventional nature of his new colleague. Soon they can both imagine more than just a trusting and collegial relationship. But is the seasoned family man the right man for the young police officer?
