Bube, Dame, Hörig (original title)

UFA SHOW & FACTUAL GmbH • Show • Sat.1 • 1996-1999

In 1996, Elmar Hörig went on air for the first time with “Bube, Dame, Hörig”. By the summer of 1999, he and his assistant (first Mio, then Babsi) had presented the game show 723 times.

The candidates had to answer questions such as: “Out of 100 Manta drivers surveyed, how many do you think would swap their car for a Golf GTI?” Answering these questions certainly required more than “just” a good general knowledge.

To get into the game, the pairs of candidates first had to correctly assess the survey results. The pair whose guess was better now had to turn over face-down playing cards in turn and predict whether the following card would be higher or lower in value.

The most successful players after two preliminary rounds advanced to the final round. There they bet an amount of money on each card to be turned over, which – if the tip was correct – was credited to their account. When the account balance reached DM 4,000, the team was given the chance to play for a car.

However, if the team did not win the car, they had another chance to try their luck in the two following shows of “Jack, Queen, King”. If the car was won, the amount won so far was forfeited.
