From the indispensable tool of science in the fight against climate change to the means of transportation of the future, the series opens up new perspectives on a form of transportation that once enabled people to discover new worlds and still holds the promise of great freedom today.
The nine-part documentary BORIS HERRMANN – DIE GANZE WELT DES SEGELNS will be available to stream on RTL+ from November 4.

Fascinating moments on the high seas, new perspectives on nature and on life – together with French journalist Marine Barnérias, German circumnavigator Boris Herrmann presents the world’s best sailors on their journey through the planet’s oceans, focusing on a different topic in each episode.
From the wooden expedition cutter of Arctic expert Arved Fuchs, which collects data in the Arctic Circle in the face of climate change, to the Olympic racing boat of 2021 silver medal winners Susann Beucke and Tina Lutz, to the sailing cargo ship captained by Anne-Floré Gannat, the streamers get to know the most unusual sailing ships of our time. Also in focus: the toughest skippers of the Vendée Globe, including five-time participant and king of sailors Jean Le Cam and a sailing dropout couple from Berlin.

Producers are Marc Lepetit, Nico Hofmann, Gwen Szyszkowitz-Schwingel and Philipp Grieß, who already worked successfully with UFA Show & Factual on the multi-award-winning documentary EXPEDITION ARKTIS. Philipp Grieß, Simon Sacha and Valentina Schütz are responsible for writing and directing.
