Berlin, September 23, 2026. The trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the acclaimed German-language dark comedy series WHERE’S WANDA? is now available. The eight-episode new season is produced by UFA Fiction. The lead roles are once again played by International Emmy Award nominee Heike Makatsch (TATSÄCHLICH…LIEBE), German Comedy Award winner Axel Stein (CRIME GAME), multi-award-winning actress Lea Drinda (DER GREIF), as well as Leo Simon and Nikeata Thompson (SPÄTI). The second season makes its worldwide premiere on Apple TV with the first episode on Wednesday, October 21, followed by a new episode every Wednesday through December 9.
The Klatts (Axel Stein and Heike Makatsch) are back! Just as a semblance of normalcy is returning to their lives, their daughter Wanda (Lea Drinda) is supposedly caught red-handed standing over a dead body. To prove her innocence and keep from losing her again, the Klatts must risk everything to track down the person responsible. Their investigation takes them deep into the criminal underworld of their seemingly sleepy suburb. Will their desperate fight for the truth save her—or drag her even deeper into chaos? And can they uncover the truth about that fateful day before it’s too late?
In addition to Heike Makatsch, Axel Stein, Lea Drinda, Leo Simon, and Nikeata Thompson, the cast also includes Sam Riley (MALEFICENT), Alexandra Maria Lara (DOWNFALL), Harriet Herbig-Matten (MAXTON HALL – THE WORLD BETWEEN US), Gisa Flake (BERLIN STATION), David Schütter (BARBARIANS), Palina Rojinski (WELCOME TO THE HARTMANNS), Suzanne von Borsody (LOLA RUNS), Kostja Ullmann (A MOST WANTED MAN), Devid Striesow (ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT), Frederic Balonier (MAXTON HALL – THE WORLD BETWEEN US), Sascha Geršak (ACHTSAM MORDEN). Torben Liebrecht (ALTERED CARBON), Aaron Maldonado-Morales (SUN AND CONCRETE), and Anton Dreger (THE TWO SIDES OF THE ABYSS) join the ensemble.
The second season of WHERE’S WANDA? is produced by UFA Fiction, a Fremantle company, with Royal Television Society-nominated Oliver Lansley (FLACK) serving as creator, writer, and executive producer. Additional executive producers include Nataly Kudiabor (ARTHUR’S LAW) and Oliver Ossege (HELGOLAND 513). The series is based on a story by Zoltan Spirandelli (VAYA CON DIOS – AND LEAD US INTO TEMPTATION), who serves as co-creator. It is directed by the award-winning and critically acclaimed filmmakers Tobi Baumann (FAKING HITLER) and Christian Ditter (HOW TO BE SINGLE).
Following its global debut, WHERE’S WANDA? was hailed as an “electrifying,” “outstanding” series that “keeps viewers hooked with a unique blend of dark comedy and suspense” and features “incredibly likable and often touching performances” by its “talented cast.” The first season achieved a rare, perfect 100% rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Fans praised the “wonderful” series as “the kind of gem that only Apple seems capable of producing” and view it as “a compelling new addition” to “Apple TV’s growing international lineup.”
The first season is available on Apple TV.
