Potsdam, December 1, 2022: Once again this year, on the initiative of casting director Nina Haun, all graduates of state-recognized German-speaking acting schools will be invited to the UFA NACHWUCHSCASTING, which will take place online as in 2021 and 2020. In two informative workshops, the actors will have the opportunity to talk to Nina Haun and her team. The first digital workshop will take place today, December 1, and will provide specific tips on how to best prepare for the upcoming young talent casting, as well as general insights into the casting process. Following the e-castings, the UFA team around Nina Haun will give feedback on the submitted videos in a second workshop on February 1, 2023.
In addition, 15 participants in this year’s edition of UFA NACHWUCHSCASTING will have the opportunity to take part in a newly created exclusive master class with Nina Haun on location in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Over the course of two days, they will work intensively on approaches to different casting situations, their visibility in everyday working life and receive individual feedback. In addition, Joachim Gern, one of Germany’s leading portrait photographers, will professionally stage the participants.
Nina Haun, Casting Director at UFA: “We are very happy that the UFA NACHWUCHSCASTING gives us direct access to the acting graduates. The encounters with the young actors are always incredibly inspiring and at the same time we see it as our responsibility to recognize, motivate, accompany and support individual talent. We have worked with many graduates for many years and we look forward to casting as many new and former graduates as possible in our diverse productions.”
The list of those who have successfully entered professional working life through UFA NACHWUCHSCASTING since 2008 is long. Malick Bauer, for example, took on the lead role in SAM – EIN SACHSE, Tamara Romera Ginés the female lead in BALKO TENERIFFA – DOPPELT HÄLT BESSER. Omar Shaker and Sarah Schmidt were cast in SOKO LEIPZIG. Karl Schaper starred in LEANDER HAUßMANN’S STASIKOMÖDIE, Slavko Popadic enriched the ensemble of LEGAL AFFAIRS and Pia-Micaela Barucki is currently in front of the camera for the second season of DER KÖNIG VON PALMA. In addition, numerous graduates will soon be seen in the highly anticipated mini-series GUTE FREUNDE (AT), directed by David Dietl.
