In “Charlotte Link – The Betrayed”, Peri Baumeister plays Scotland Yard investigator Kate Linville, who wants to solve the murder of her father herself despite instructions to the contrary. In doing so, she gets caught up in a web of brutal crimes and puts herself in great danger…
Synopsis: Retired police chief Richard Linville is woken from his sleep in the middle of the night. A masked man has broken into his house: He tortures Linville to death. Only a short time later, his daughter, London Scotland Yard officer Kate, arrives – not only to organize the funeral of her revered father, but also to conduct her own investigation. Local police chief Caleb Hale, who is actually making no progress, does not like this. Under pressure from Kate, Caleb’s assistant Jane soon comes across a prime suspect: the psychopathic violent criminal Denis Shove, who threatened Richard when he was convicted. Now he is at large again and has disappeared with his girlfriend. As more crimes are committed, Kate is confronted with a dark secret about her father that brings her ideal image of Richard crashing down. The big-city investigator relentlessly drives her beleaguered colleague Caleb, who refuses to interfere in any way, to distraction – and almost to despair. Meanwhile, the manhunt triggers a knee-jerk reaction in Denis: He takes control of a family at a lonely cottage and shoots the father Jonas Crane in a life-threatening manner. While Kate and Caleb concentrate on their new lead, Stella Crane and her young son desperately hope for help.
