Jochen Schropp hosted the program. The jury and subsequent mentors consisted of Sarah Conner, Till Brönner and George Glueck. Those who made it past the audition were divided into one of three categories (groups, solo singers aged 16 to 24 and solo singers aged 25 and over). Each jury member took on a group as a mentor. In the jury house, the mentor had to decide on the three best acts, which then had to prove themselves in the live shows. The audience then voted for the winners by telephone.
Last year, “The Voice” Edita Abdieski won the grand final with 74.1 percent of viewer views. Up to 3.55 million viewers watched the 25-year-old protégé of mentor Till Brönner beat the four Hamburg ladies from “Big Soul” in the grand live final of the successful music casting show to secure a record deal with Sony Music.
The aim of the show on VOX is to find a musical talent with the so-called X Factor.
To win, the candidate has to overcome four hurdles – the audition, the boot camp, the jury house and, of course, the live shows.
Following the huge success of the first season, X Factor is now entering its second round. The judges and mentors this time are singer Sarah Connor, jazz trumpeter Till Brönner and rapper das Bo. The presenters of the second season are Jochen Schropp and Janin Reinhardt.
X Factor is the German version of the British music casting show The X Factor, which was developed by Simon Cowell.
