UFA SHOW & FACTUAL is producing a new edition of the globally successful format X FACTOR for the entertainment channel Sky 1. The jury includes German rapper and music producer Sido, Jennifer Weist, front woman of the rock band “Jennifer Rostock”, music legend Thomas Anders and chart topper Iggy alias “Lions Head”.
The show is hosted by Charlotte Würdig and co-presenter Ben Istenes, who combines backstage and social media news from the show.
At X FACTOR, vocal acts of all musical genres are very welcome. Whether solo singers, bands or vocal duos, choirs or ensembles, with or without instruments – we are looking for the X FACTOR!
At X FACTOR, the best singing acts in Germany compete against each other. The aim is to convince the jury and the audience, as only one act will be awarded the X FACTOR in the show’s final. The jury also faces a special challenge: the judges, all experienced professionals from the music business, become mentors to the candidates during the show and fight for their favorites. This also puts the jury members in competition with each other. The music professionals use their expertise to help the candidates achieve the perfect performance, make artistic decisions with them and fight for their act to win the show.
X FACTOR is one of the most successful music entertainment shows in the world and has already been shown in 52 countries worldwide. These include England, Australia, Belgium, Russia, the Netherlands, Spain, Italy, France, the USA, Japan and Brazil. The show was developed in 2004 by Simon Cowell, who also created the successful FremantleMedia format “Got Talent”. X FACTOR has produced global stars such as Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, Olly Murs, James Arthur and One Direction like no other format.
The seven-piece “EES & the Yes-Ja! Band” are the winners of X FACTOR! With their musical style “South-African Kwaito”, they not only caused storms of enthusiasm among the judges and standing ovations from the studio audience, but also won the hearts of the viewers in front of the screens. They voted the band the winner of X FACTOR 2018 with their single “Try, try, try”, meaning that “EES & the Yes-Ja! Band” not only beat the two solo acts Sheila (28) from Flensburg and Jan-Marten (23) from Süderlügum, but also the second band “Wait Of The World”.
X FACTOR aired on Sky 1 from August 27, 2018 to October 19, 2018.
