Coordinates such as A 4, C 6, B 2 and then the anxious question: Hit! Ship sunk or missed or even hit? Sat.1 turned this parlor game into a big show event.
A total of twelve teams played in twelve ships. Each team consisted of a team captain and prominent crew members. For example, there was a sports ship, a South American ship, an entertainer ship, an investigator ship and a police ship. Hugo Egon Balder hosted the sea battle.
At the start of the game, a fun game of tag between the teams decided who got to fire the first shot. The captain of the winning team then named a coordinate where he suspected an opposing ship was located and fired a shot. Whoever scored a hit was allowed to shoot again. The aim was to sink all of the opponent’s ships. The winner was the first to sink all of the opponent’s ships. In addition to ships and water, there were also minefields in the coordinate systems. If the captains hit such a minefield, some of their players had to take a penalty action.
