Into sugar-sweet chaos! With “WER KANN, DER KANN!” , UFA SHOW & FACTUAL is producing the German adaptation of the Netflix baking show “Nailed it!”. The six episodes will be released on Netflix from January 17, 2020. The show will be hosted by presenter, author and curvy model Angelina Kirsch.
Presenter Angelina Kirsch: “I am very happy to be able to present this great baking show. It’s a cool and very funny show that, unlike other baking shows, is not about the perfect result, but about the fun of baking and the joy of life.”
Bianca Barth, Executive Producer UFA SHOW & FACTUAL: “With WER KANN, DER KANN! we are working for Netflix for the first time and together we have created a baking show where there is more to laugh about than to learn. I hope all viewers have as much fun with our funny contestants, crooked cakes and our wonderful presenter as we had producing it. Happy streaming!“
Jennifer Mival, Content Manager Non-fiction Series at Netflix: “Baking and cooking formats have long been dominated by the drive for perfection. With our interpretation of ‘Nailed it!’, we are bringing the fun of failure back into the kitchen. Under the motto ‘Do what you can’t (yet) do’, our contestants dare to tackle the most elaborate cakes and accept that a lot will go wrong when baking them. WER KANN, DER KANN! celebrates these fails and motivates them to try anyway.”
In WER KANN, DER KANN! three amateur bakers compete against each other in each episode to prove their baking talent, which still has room for improvement. In two rounds, they have to bake professional masterpieces – multi-tiered cakes, elaborate cupcakes or imaginative cake pops. Whoever manages to come closest to the original despite the time pressure and slight overload will win prize money of 5,000 euros. The amusing results will be judged by a jury consisting of presenter Angelina Kirsch, world champion confectioner Bernd Siefert and a guest judge who changes every episode.
Presenter Angelina Kirsch accompanies the brave amateurs through the show. The 31-year-old, who is a passionate amateur baker herself, is presenting a show for the first time on WER KANN, DER KANN!
Which amateur bakers bake their way through the tasks and which baking disasters the jury will be served up can be seen on Netflix from January 17, 2020.
WER KANN, DER KANN! is a production of UFA SHOW & FACTUAL on behalf of Netflix.
