Three candidates entered the race to make their fortune using their knowledge, tactics and quick reactions. The players experienced a rollercoaster ride of emotions. After all, whoever was the winner one moment could be the loser the next.
The candidates had to put their general knowledge to the test in a total of three rounds of questions. Whoever pressed the buzzer first and gave the correct answer was credited with the most points. Each round of questions was followed by a bonus round in which the candidates could try their luck on the bonus wall as often as their score allowed. In random order, 54 different symbols for cash values, prizes and action fields lit up. The players now tried to stop the running light on the symbols with the highest value using the buzzer.
But beware: “Hainz” the money shark was also lying in wait for the players and turned supposedly lucky players into unlucky ones in no time at all. Because wherever “Hainz” appeared, all points were lost. Drück Dein Glück reached its climax in the third and final round. It wasn’t just the questions that were the trickiest and the prizes on the bonus wall the most attractive. In the final round, the risk of going home as the winner or loser was also the greatest. The “top” field was added to the bonus wall in this decisive round. If the candidate with the lowest score caught this field by buzzing quickly, he was automatically catapulted to the top and his score was equalized with that of the leading player. In this way, even a supposed loser could still become champion of the day. The champion was able to defend his title until he won the top prize in the final bonus round.
