In an exciting way, "The Specialists - In the Name of the Victims" combines aspects of forensic medicine, criminalistics and history. The series comprises a total of four seasons, which were first broadcast on ZDF.
Forensic scientist Dr. Katrin Stoll (Valerie Niehaus) and chief inspector Henrik Mertens are the heads of a team of LKA experts who, under the leadership of senior inspector Dorothea Lehberger (Katy Karrenbauer), deal with unsolved capital crimes, retrials and undiscovered murders – so-called “cold cases” – in a special unit set up in Berlin. With Ben Kuttner (Timur Bartels), Henrik Mertens has also brought a new, young detective inspector into the team, who surprises again and again with his research skills and his sometimes very direct manner.
