Potsdam, October 15, 2025. From the “Galant” dance school on Kurfürstendamm to MIPCOM in Cannes: The UFA Fiction production KU’DAMM 77 celebrated its world premiere last night at the world’s largest market for television and streaming content. Cast members Claudia Michelsen, Sonja Gerhardt, Maria Ehrich, Massiyami Diaby, and Florian Stetter were on hand to present the first episode to the audience. In addition to the cast, writer and showrunner Annette Hess, producer Marc Lepetit, junior producer Bernhard Strobel, director Maurice Hübner, and cinematographer Michael Schreitel were also present.
In addition, the highly anticipated trailer for the new season of the historical series has been released. The trailer is available on the official channels of ZDF and UFA Fiction:
Annette Hess, showrunner and writer: “I vividly remember our premiere of *Kudamm 56* 10 years ago in Cannes. No crime drama, no medical drama, no thriller—but a historical family series about a perfectly ordinary German family after the war—I was very nervous about whether this story would resonate with audiences. Ten years later, I’m just as excited. With our outstanding cast, a fabulous creative team, and working side by side with director Maurice Hübner, we’ve completely reimagined the story of the Schöllack family for Season 4. I’m delighted to present audiences with a new, exciting, and intense chapter in the lives of the Schöllack women.”
Marc Lepetit, producer of KU’DAMM 77: “Ku’damm on the Croisette! After ten years, the Schöllack family is returning to France, and we’re thrilled that MIPCOM and ZDF Studios are providing this platform for the fourth season and showcasing the series to an internationally interested audience so early on. A great moment for everyone involved, demonstrating just how important German productions can be for the international market and how crucial it is for German broadcasters and streaming services to continue producing high-quality content that can succeed globally. For us, it’s a very special moment in a very special place!”
KU’DAMM 77. The Bee Gees are taking the discos by storm with “Staying Alive,” the RAF is dominating the headlines, and the Wall stands as solid as a rock. Three generations now live above the “Galant” dance school on Kurfürstendamm: the matriarch Caterina (ageless), her daughters Monika and Helga, both in their 40s, and her granddaughters Dorli (20) and Friederike (18). The focus is on Monika, who, as a dance instructor, pushes her daughter Dorli’s dance career forward—until a catastrophe looms. The fates of the Schöllack women are chronicled by a young journalist who is filming a documentary about the long-established “Galant” company. She takes a look behind the scenes—all while pursuing her own agenda…
KU’DAMM 77 is a UFA Fiction production commissioned by ZDF. The producers are Marc Lepetit, Nico Hofmann, and Markus Brunnemann. Annette Hess serves as writer and showrunner; Maurice Hübner directs, and Michael Schreitel returns as director of photography. Heike Hempel, Bastian Wagner, and Beate Bramstedt are in charge of production at ZDF. The new season will be available on the ZDF streaming portal starting December 30 and will air during primetime on ZDF on January 12, 13, and 14, 2026.
