Potsdam, November 13, 2025: The famous foot in the door, the opportunity to make connections, a first contact in the industry: UFA’s young talent casting offers acting students this chance. Every year, hundreds of graduates leave the state-recognized German-language acting schools to join the ranks of the biggest film and television stars and seek their way into the industry. Casting director Nina Haun and her team are paving the way for the next generation of actors. For the 18th time, she is giving talented young actors the opportunity to show off their skills at the UFA Young Talent Casting in Potsdam-Babelsberg, giving them practical tips and explaining what is important when they meet for the first time at castings. Dozens of talents have already been discovered and cast for UFA productions in previous years of the UFA Young Talent Casting. Whether cinema, streamer, crime series or daily series – the UFA portfolio is very broad and therefore also offers the opportunity to attract attention.
With 176 graduates, this year’s number of participants is higher than ever before for the young talent casting. On four consecutive days from November 14, after a shoot with renowned photographer Joachim Gern, the young actors will go into a live casting session in pairs with Nina Haun and her team, where they will also receive tips for their future career in the film industry.
Nina Haun, UFA Casting Director: “We are full of anticipation for the up-and-coming actors and are grateful for the opportunity to get to know them all personally and in their work. These days are some of the best of the year because there are so many inspiring encounters and interactions. Sometimes a cast is cast immediately afterwards, sometimes it takes months or years until everything fits – but one thing is certain: we notice every talent and save them for the long term. The UFA Young Talent Casting is now taking place for the 18th time and we are celebrating this great support for drama school graduates!”
Over the past few years, the UFA young talent casting has proven itself as an institution and many actors have been discovered who have appeared in productions across the UFA. Upcoming roles include Lilly-Marie Vogler in MISS SOPHIE – SAME PROCEDURE AS EVERY YEAR on Prime Video, Tamara Romera Ginés and Till Raskopf in FABIAN UND DIE MÖRDERISCHE HOCHZEIT (also Prime Video). Anton Dreger, who already appeared in the first season of WHERE’S WANDA? (Apple TV+). Massiamy Diaby and Jonathan Stolze will star in KU’DAMM 77, the sequel to the successful ZDF series. Eidin Jalali stars in the global hit MAXTON HALL – DIE WELT ZWISCHEN UNS on Prime Video, as well as in the RTL crime series MORD IM REVIER. Enzo Bumm and Amal Keller were recently in front of the camera for DAS GESCHENK (AT) (Netflix). In the long-running series DIE DIPLOMATIN (ARD), EIN STARKES TEAM and SOKO LEIPZIG (both ZDF), talents discovered at the UFA young talent castings are also cast time and again.
