The new season of *WER WEISS DENN SOWAS?* got off to a record-breaking start: While Kai Pflaume set an official Guinness World Record during six live episodes of the quiz show, up to 3.4 million viewers tuned in to watch this extraordinary TV event. The first live episode at 6 p.m. achieved a strong 19.5% market share. The livestream on the ARD media library was also viewed approximately 600,000 times. On the ARD Interaktiv app, over 18,000 users participated in the quiz during the first round.
Host Kai Pflaume took on an extraordinary athletic challenge: While hosting the six episodes, he ran 42.195 kilometers in the studio—in 5 hours, 53 minutes, and 21 seconds. Never before has such a long distance been run while hosting a show.
Kai Pflaume: “1,407 laps is a lot—now it’s done, and it just feels great. I don’t think I’ll set another world record—but no one can take this one away from me now.”
With this, Kai Pflaume secures the official Guinness World Record for “the longest distance run while hosting a show”—and at the same time ensures a successful start to the relay race.
