Every day in the week before Easter 2009, KI.KA presented the WDR productionTanz mit Prinzessin Lillifee! Princess Lillifee prepared for the big fairy ball with a group of small, dance-loving children and their friends Pupsi the pig and Carlos the frog. The young flower children were able to show off everything they had learned at the grand finale:Dance with Princess Lillifee! The fairy ball.
Dance with Princess Lillifee! was a dance workshop for four to nine-year-olds that was developed together with a dance teacher specializing in children’s dance. In the studio, the flower children learned the right steps and turns to contribute to the success of the subsequent fairy ball. And the children in front of the screens were also encouraged to dance along. The hip-hop frog Carlos and Pupsi, the rather cozy pink piggy, ensured that the dance lesson around the fairy kingdom was fun.
Princess Lillifee was invented by the children’s book author Monika Finsterbusch, who worked as a fashion designer. The first lovingly designed and lavishly produced picture books were published by Coppenrath Verlag in 2003. Princess Lillifee is now a household name for children in many countries around the world. Her adventures have already been published in 19 languages.
In addition to the books (total print run 1.5 million), there is a wide range of accessories. Music also plays a major role with Princess Lillifee. Numerous Princess Lillifee CDs have already been released. Shortly before her television premiere, she was also seen on the big screen for the first time. The movie Princess Lillifee was released on 26.03.2009.
