Get your cooking spoons ready, go! UFA SHOW & FACTUAL and Österreichischer Rundfunk (ORF) present the new comedy cooking show MEINE MAMA KOCHT BESSER ALS DEINE. ORF will show eight episodes of the show produced by UFA SHOW & FACTUAL from Friday, April 6, 2018, at 8:15 pm. The show will be hosted by Katharina Straßer.

In MEINE MAMA KOCHT BESSER ALS DEINE, two duos compete against each other, each consisting of a mother or father who cooks for their family with dedication and skill, and their adult child who does not yet have much experience in the kitchen. The highlight: for the first time, the roles are swapped and the offspring has to cook. Cooking expert mom or cooking expert dad can only give instructions from the edge of the hob.

The parent-child teams only find out which dish has to be cooked in the studio. The task is to prepare two portions of a well-known family recipe within a given time frame. One portion goes to the opposing team for tasting, the other to the show’s judge, celebrity chef Konstantin Filippou.

The two parent-child teams enter the cooking ring one after the other. The mothers and fathers are permanently present, but can only lend a hand to a limited extent. They are allowed to give instructions, comment, scold and share in the suffering – but only in an emergency. Whenever mom or dad does have to intervene, the team’s cooking time runs twice as fast. At the end of the time, a judge evaluates the dishes and decides who wins the show.
