The shooting of the second film BALKO TENERIFFA – WOLVES, FOREST AND WILDNESS (AT) took place from April 26 to May 25, 2022 in Santa Cruz on the island of Tenerife on behalf of RTL. After Balko (Jochen Horst) and Krapp (Ludger Pistor) reunited as a team in the first film of the action-comedy series, they are now officially investigating as private detectives and are involved in a convoluted case on their very first day, which not only puzzles the two cult investigators. The search for a missing person and the uncovering of a murder case bring Balko and Krapp back together with detective Alicia Ruiz (Tamara Romera Ginés). Following an accident involving her new partner Blanca Martinez (Tania Watson), Alicia has a new colleague at her side: the young inspector Pedro Hernandez (Oscar Brose) is fresh out of police school and brings all his ambition and zeal with him, bringing a breath of fresh air to the investigation. Together, Balko, Krapp, Alicia and Pedro delve deep into their investigation and uncover an exciting scandal.
Other roles include Alessandro Schuster, Tara Linke, Nik Xhelilaj, Derya Flechtner, Carmen Molinar, Tania Watson, Stefan Weinert, Isabelle Geiss and Prince Kuhlmann.
A broadcast date is not yet known.
Balko and Krapp have just received their license as private detectives when their first client promptly comes to them. The 16-year-old Felicitas (Derya Flechtner) is heavily pregnant. Her boyfriend Timo (Alessandro Schuster) has disappeared and she believes her own father might have something to do with it. The background: Felicitas’ father is a building contractor and wants to build a 5-star resort on a piece of forest. However, this piece of forest is being occupied by environmental activists and one of the leaders is none other than Felicitas boyfriend Timo. Balko and Krapp take on the case, even if Balko would have preferred something more spectacular for the first case. But things become more spectacular when their investigation leads them to the environmentalists’ camp. There they find Timo’s best friend Karl (Alex Falcon) beaten to death.
Alicia and her new partner Blanca Martinez (Tania Watson) investigate this murder case. Balko and Krapp are left with the search for Timo, who must have something to do with the case. Be it as a witness, victim or perpetrator! When Blanca is attacked and brutally beaten by a stranger in the camp, leaving her in a coma, the guilt-ridden Alicia must continue the investigation with her newly assigned partner Pedro Hernandez (Oscar Brose), a boy straight out of police school. She asks her stepfather Balko for help. He is to find Timo as quickly as possible and bring him to her. Because Timo seems to be the key to this case…

Two cops as different as night and day, but as inseparable as pitch and brimstone – 15 years after their last case together, former investigators Balko (Jochen Horst, SEKRETÄRRINNEN – ÜBERLEBEN VON 9 BIS 5, KREUZFAHRT INS GLÜCK) and Krapp (Ludger Pistor, EIN SCHNITZEL FÜR ALLE, JAMES BOND 007: CASINO ROYALE) reunite in the UFA Fiction production BALKO TENERIFFA and revive the crime cult. The first film, entitled DOPPELT HÄLT BESSER, aired on RTL on March 24, 2022 at 8.15 pm.
The cool, daredevil Balko and his always correct partner Krapp – this unlikely yet harmonious duo are back together in the reboot of the classic RTL series. But with a few key differences: The series heroes have gotten a little older and instead of Dortmund, the popular Canary Island of Tenerife becomes the setting for the new edition. And then there’s Inspector Alicia Ruíz (Tamara Romera Ginés, IN ALL FRIENDSHIP, CRUISE TO HAPPINESS), who would love to banish the two ex-policemen from the island and from her life if one of them wasn’t her adoptive father …
Uschi Glas in a glamorous guest role: The comeback of Balko and Krapp is not the only long-awaited reunion. Cinema and TV star Uschi Glas (MAX UND DIE WILDE 7, CLUB DER EINSAMEN HERZEN) plays the equally glamorous and opaque businesswoman Beate Oswald in the start of the film series. It is the first TV role for the renowned and multi-award-winning actress since 2019’s TRAUMSCHIFF. Iván Gallardo (SCHLOSS EINSTEIN), Jan Henrik Stahlberg (4 BLOCKS), Johannes Kienast (MARIE BRAND) and others can also be seen in other roles.
BALKO TENERIFFA – DOPPELT HÄLT BESSER has been available on RTL+ since March 10.
The content:
15 years after their last case together, former investigators Balko and Krapp meet up again in Tenerife. While Balko, full of self-pity after the death of his Spanish wife, surrenders to alcohol, things couldn’t be going better for Krapp, who now works as an assistant director of the Ministry of Defense and only travels by private jet. At least until he is accused of murdering a waitress after a party thrown by German arms manufacturer Oswald in Puerto de la Cruz. Unfortunately, Krapp has no recollection of the night in question and sets off with his old friend Balko in search of the real culprit. The duo shine in their old manner and with their sometimes questionable investigative methods. But they are not the only ones searching for the truth. Inspector Alicia Ruíz is the local investigator in charge and she does everything she can to prevent these two German ex-policemen from interfering in her case. Especially as one of them is her adoptive father, with whom she hasn’t spoken for years…
