ALL OR NOTHING: THE NATIONAL MANSION IN KATAR launches exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries worldwide on September 8, 2023.
The original documentary series ALL OR NOTHING: DIE NATIONALMANNSCHAFT IN KATAR accompanies the DFB team on their way to and during the World Cup in Qatar and offers soccer fans a unique look behind the scenes, especially during the tournament. The team has literally opened all doors to the camera team to provide unfiltered and always authentic insights into internal processes and to convey everything about the emotional moments and milestones of the tournament. Despite the sporting disappointment in the face of high expectations and hopes, Prime members can look forward to a first-class cinematic realization and moving moments.
Christian Twente, director: “How does Hansi Flick actually prepare his team for the opponent, what happens in the dressing room before the game, what happens afterwards? Only the coaching staff and players know exactly. As a director, it is therefore both a privilege and a challenge to gain an unadulterated insight into the heart of the German national soccer team. A direct insight behind the scenes – into places that are otherwise closed to the public. A privilege because nowhere else can you experience cheers and tears so directly, the emotions of the stars are visible 1:1. A challenge, because these moments give rise to stories that no one can predict. Stories that can be retold or take other turns. In the end, unfortunately, it was a tragedy. Thanks to the openness of the national team players, the DFB and Hansi Flick’s trust in our team, we were still able to document every moment (camera: Martin Christ, Markus Bieß). This was the only way to create a gripping documentary series that shows what really happened in Qatar – and that their heroes are not just footballers, but people too.”
The documentary series is produced by Amazon Studios in collaboration with UFA Documentary and in co-production with Stereo Films. The documentary was directed by Christian Twente (Der Anschlag), accompanied by creative producer Matthias Bittner (Krieg der Lügen, Emmy Award Winner 2016). Soccer commentator Béla Réthy narrates the four-part documentary. Producer of the UFA Documentary is Marc Lepetit. Executive producers on the part of UFA are Nico Hofmann and Sebastian Werninger, co-executive producer is Hannes Heidenreich from Stereo Films.
