Sascha Schwingel has been CEO of UFA since September 19, 2023. Prior to that, as Deputy Head of TV & Entertainment, he was responsible for all of RTL Deutschland’s entertainment offerings (including RTL, VOX, and RTL+). From July 2019 to March 2022, he served as managing director of the TV network VOX Television. Prior to that, he had served as Head of Editorial and Program Management at ARD Degeto since October 2013, overseeing the production of approximately 100 commissioned and co-produced programs annually (including “Der Fall Barschel,” “Terror – Ihr Urteil,” “Gladbeck,” and “Babylon Berlin”) as well as for licensing and programming. Sascha Schwingel began his career in September 1998 as a producer at teamWorx Television & Film GmbH (now UFA Fiction). Over the course of about 15 years, he was responsible for the development and production of more than 40 fictional TV programs (including “Dresden,” “Die Sturmflut,” and “Hindenburg”), which have won numerous national and international awards.

After graduating from high school, Sascha Schwingel first studied business administration at RWTH Aachen University. From 1996 to 1998, he studied at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg, majoring in film production. Sascha Schwingel was born on September 15, 1971.
