Technology all-rounder – Trainee program

BACK TO OVERVIEW

Technology all-rounder

“All you need for a painting is a brush. A piece of music only needs a piano. But for a series, you need a team. In other words, people who know how to break down the stories in a professional, interesting or even practical technical way: How to set the lighting, choose the visual language or mix the sound so that it fits the style of the series and we can feel with the characters. UFA offers a trainee program for “technical all-rounders” so that series like “Gute Zeiten – Schlechte Zeiten” can run for another 26 years and continue to develop in the production process.

As a talented young film technician, you get an insight into every technical department so that you can then specialize and at the same time gain in-depth background information about the entire production process. You gain practical experience during the shoot, while you fish and mix the sound, change lenses or take over the camera work during the rehearsal or view the material in post and make a rough cut. All in all, you get to work hands-on, talk to the professionals and acquire knowledge that you will need for your future career. You can then decide whether your own life fits into the 16:9 format. The trainee program is flexible and always right in the thick of things. I was able to choose my own areas of focus and was also allowed to spontaneously take time to look at other departments and processes and find out which path I would like to take in the future. Apart from that, it’s not bad to be involved in burning construction trailers, daredevil stunts and concerts by famous artists and to know how to stage them professionally for 3 million people.”
