Sascha Schwingel has been CEO of UFA since September 19, 2023. Prior to that, he was Deputy Head of TV & Entertainment and responsible for all of RTL Deutschland’s entertainment offerings (including RTL, VOX and RTL+). From July 2019 to March 2022, he was Managing Director of the TV channel VOX Television. Prior to that, he was Head of Editorial & Program Management at ARD Degeto since October 2013, where he was responsible for the realization of around 100 commissioned and co-productions annually (including “Der Fall Barschel”, “Terror – Ihr Urteil”, “Gladbeck”, “Babylon Berlin”) as well as for license acquisition and program planning. Sascha Schwingel began his career in September 1998 as a producer at teamWorx Television & Film GmbH (now UFA Fiction). In around 15 years, he was responsible for the development and realization of over 40 fictional TV programs (including “Dresden”, “Die Sturmflut”, “Hindenburg”), which won numerous national and international awards.

After graduating from high school, Sascha Schwingel first studied business administration at RWTH Aachen University. From 1996 to 1998, he studied production at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy in Ludwigsburg. Sascha Schwingel was born on 15.9.1971.
