The successful show format of the 90s is back: RTL and Prime Video are jointly bringing back RTL’s hit show under the title Gladiators – Die Show der Giganten. Production of new episodes of the legendary game show will start at Messe Düsseldorf in early 2026.

Gladiators – The Show of the Giants is an entertaining competition show that presents a mixture of spectacular and exciting competitions inspired by classic gladiator fights. The participants compete against each other in various games as well as against a team of professional athletes, the so-called gladiators (usually professional bodybuilders or strength athletes). The show was previously shown on RTL from 1992 – 94 under the title “American Gladiators”.

The Eliminator on 06.03.2026: In the Eliminator, the challengers compete against each other in an obstacle duel. Whoever has collected more points in the preliminary round starts with a time advantage: each point advantage gives you half a second bonus time. The course demands strength, endurance and technique: climbing, hanging, balancing, rope slide and finally the decisive sprint against the travelator (inclined treadmill). Whoever swings through the paper breakthrough first wins their preliminary round and qualifies directly for the grand semi-final!
