YOU CAN DANCE! (original title)

Samba or waltz? Hip hop or ballet? Schuhplattler or belly dance? Many can dance - but the primetime event show YOU CAN DANCE! showed who is the champion of all dance styles!

In YOU CAN DANCE! an expert jury and the audience decide who has what it takes to be a really great dancer – whether on a show stage, in a dance company or as a dancer on tour with big stars.

In open auditions in four German cities, dancers of all dance styles were able to demonstrate their talent on a large stage.

It turned out: Who can do them all – Standard, Hip Hop, Modern and Salsa? Who is the most versatile dancer? Who successfully mastered all the dance disciplines? Dance couples and individual dancers faced the jury. Whether amateur or professional, breakdance or folk dance: anyone aged 18 or over who thought they were a good dancer could come to the open casting.

The 40 best qualified for a tough, one-week intensive workshop. There they had to fight their way through a wide variety of disciplines. The audience witnessed how the ballerina performed in breakdancing and whether the waltz king could also dance modern jazz.

The best and toughest dance coaches trained and judged them – and decided which dancers finally made it to the big live performance shows.

There they presented themselves in pairs in a wide variety of dance styles. It was decided by lot whether the hip hopper danced with the ballerina or the belly dancer with the ballroom dancer. Each week, the expert jury and the viewers decided which pair was the best – the losers had to leave.

The audience in the studio could hardly contain themselves, everyone was eagerly awaiting the result of the viewer voting. Anna Maier made it exciting, the candidates could hardly stand it.

Then the decision was announced:

Dennis Jauch from Bremerhaven won and was Germany’s best dancer. He received the prize of 50,000 euros and a dance workshop in Los Angeles!
