The popular career quiz "Was bin ich?" went into a new round on Kabel1 in October 2000.

The revival of the cult classic Was bin ich? was presented by presenter Björn-Hergen Schimpf. The guessing team consisted of Dr. Norbert Blüm, Vera Int-Veen, Herbert Feuerstein and Tanja Schumann.

The rules of the game:

When each guest entered the studio, they wrote their name on a board and ticked whether they were self-employed or employed.

Of course, the legendary piggy bank was also a must. Once the candidate had chosen one, the presenter struck the gong and the candidate’s profession appeared on the screen for viewers at home. It faded out again when the gong was struck again. This acoustic signal gave viewers at home the chance to take their eyes off the screen to guess.

The candidate had to make a hand gesture typical of their profession. The members of the guessing team then asked their questions one after the other, which could only be answered with “yes” or “no”. It was a guessing fox’s turn until his question was answered with “No”.

During the guest of honor guessing round, the guessing foxes had to wear an eye mask. The presenter answered for the guest of honour so that he could not be recognized by his voice.

For each negative answer, the candidate received a “What am I” coin (worth 5 euros) in their pig. The guests of honor received a surprise gift for every “no”. Folding cards were placed on the moderator’s desk to count the number of negative answers, as the game was over after the tenth question.
