Los Angeles is considered by many to be the dream city par excellence and is therefore the destination of thousands of emigrants. Around 50,000 Germans also live in this metropolis of millions. But what our four friends have in common is more than just their shared residence in the Hollywood hills. They all know and like each other, and they are living their American dream: in search of the big time. Sometimes they do this together as a clique, but they also do it individually within the framework of their very different possibilities. From rich and pampered in a luxurious villa to a room in a shared flat and a temporary job. From the bored millionaire’s wife to the newly divorced mom on the hunt for a man. In the large clique of four German women with their many acquaintances, friends and family, the weird and wonderful stories that life only writes in L.A. take place.

ZDF accompanies four completely different women who are facing major changes in their private and professional lives. The four-part docusoap shows how they deal with their fates, plan late careers or simply organize their glamorous everyday lives in a very up-close and personal way.
