Potsdam, November 21, 2024: Having just finished filming their 102nd case, the detectives from the ZDF Saturday crime series EIN STARKES TEAM are once again faced with a mysterious murder case. The 103rd case of the UFA Fiction production entitled MÖRDERISCHE GIER, formerly: TOD IM TREPPENHAUS (AT), has been filming in Berlin and Brandenburg since the beginning of November.
When Amina Weber (Xenia Assenza) is found murdered in an apartment building owned by Berlin-Heim-AG, the strong team takes up the investigation and comes across several suspects from Amina’s immediate environment. Tarik Aslan (Paul Wollin), who manages the rental properties of Berlin-Heim-AG with his small building services company, has only recently become Amina’s boss. Apparently the two have more than just a business relationship, because it turns out that Tarik has been stalking Amina using an app. Sophia Schultheiss (Lina Wendel), a resident of the house, also becomes the focus of the investigators’ attention. She is not on good terms with either Berlin-Heim-AG or Amina Weber. After all, Amina worked for Berlin-Heim-AG until recently – and is blamed by the Schultheiss family for the tragic break-up of their family. The strong team finds out that Niklas Kaiser (Torben Liebrecht), CEO of Berlin-Heim-AG and Amina Weber’s ex, and Steffen Sammler (Vito Sack), an employee of the company’s bank, are apparently ripping off their tenants with a scam – and Amina was the face of the associated advertising campaign. Since changing jobs, Amina Weber has been living with her stepbrother Falk Becker (Leonard Kunz). The strong team finds out that there have been inheritance disputes between the two of them and that this has often led to serious arguments. Lots of suspects, some reliable motives – and in the end a race against time…
As always, Chief Inspector Otto Garber (Florian Martens) and Linett Wachow (Stefanie Stappenbeck) are supported in their investigations by team leader Reddemann (Arnfried Lerche), forensic pathologist Dr. Gabriele Simkeit (Eva Sixt) and Inspector Nils Makowski (Lucas Reiber). Friend and colleague Sputnik (Jaecki Schwarz) is also part of the 103rd film in the series. Paul Wollin, Lina Wendel, Paula Kober, Leonard Kunz, Torben Liebrecht, Vito Sack, Levi Eisenblätter and Xenia Assenza, among others, can be seen in the episode roles. The episode was written by Timo Berndt, directed by Sven Fehrensen and filmed by Henning Jessel. Filming will continue in Berlin and the surrounding area until December 5, 2024.
EIN STARKES TEAM is a ZDF commissioned production by UFA Fiction, produced by Simon Müller-Elmau, executive producer is Vanessa Richter. Matthias Pfeifer is the ZDF editor.
