What is the UFA Academy? Toggle

The UFA Academy offers training and continuing education programs for all (m/f/d) who would like to enter the film and television industry or continue their education in another field. So if you’ve always wanted to do ‘something with media’, want to reorient yourself professionally or you’re simply up for UFA, then take a look at our programs – we look forward to receiving your application.

Who can apply? Toggle

Anyone in their mid-twenties is welcome. No previous knowledge of the media sector is expected. Feel free to take a look at the respective requirements in the offers.

How can I apply? Toggle

An online form is linked in each of the announcements. Please apply via this as we prefer ‘online only’ for data protection reasons and our applicant management is centralized.

Attention: If you do not receive an acknowledgement of receipt after sending the message, your documents have probably not arrived. Please also check your spam folder.

What should I think about when applying? Toggle

We are looking for applications that show your passion for the media world and also the requirements for your respective department. And why are you particularly interested in UFA? (copying does not apply) If, for example, you only have a professional prerequisite through professional experience and not through an already completed apprenticeship or similar, then highlight where you have already been able to deepen your knowledge.

Basically, the more specifically you describe yourself and your experiences, the more concretely you may stand out from others. Make us curious about you!

What does the selection process look like? Toggle

For each department, we have internal specialists who review the applications. Together we make a pre-selection of who we invite to an assessment center.

In the best case, the assessment center will then take place in person in Potsdam. In terms of content, you would be given specialist tasks, face some interview questions and have to prove yourself in the group. The day is also intended to get to know each other and, of course, to ask you questions.

What happens after the application? Toggle

If you have successfully completed the assessment center and the selection falls on you, we will agree on a start date with you and will go into the concrete individual planning of your individual training plan.

What costs will I incur? Toggle

We do not cover any costs incurred during the selection process.
The continuing education program for career changers itself is remunerated at the minimum wage over the two years. You should stay near the main location (Cologne or Potsdam) at your own expense. We take care of one-time arrivals and departures to deployment stations at other locations and also provide support with accommodation.
